A dynamic and highly creative bassist from Canada,
Scott began playing and singing rock n roll at a young age but turned
to jazz and classical music by his late teens. After years of study at
various institutions including Banff School of Fine Arts, McGill University
and with celebrated teachers such as Dave Holland and Joel Quarrington,
he toured much of the world with a gypsy swing ensemble. This led to other
jazz/folk crossover projects, including stints with traditional Rumanian
and Russian ensembles. He has recorded with everyone from Vancouver's
infamous NOW free jazz ensemble to techno gurus Mouse on Mars (playing
cello and violin as well) not to mention numerous original projects. He
is currently musical director and bassist for a circus cabaret in Berlin,
as well as providing compositional direction and great grooves for friedsitar.
